It’s finally time to throw your cap in the air and say, “I did it! 🙌”

Congratulations on this epic milestone!!

Let’s commemorate this special moment in your life! Whether you're graduating from high school or college, take some time to capture this moment with a cap & gown photoshoot. Not only can I make it fun for you but you’ll have images for your graduation announcements, social media posts and for sharing with family.

To help you prepare for your cap and gown photoshoot, here are some tips to keep in mind:

  1. Bring props!! I highly encourage this!

Any items that represent your school or your major. This could include: books, a diploma, tassel, sash, balloons with your graduating year, a sign, a banner or even your dog! If you’re graduating from college, you could bring a bottle of champagne!

2. Practice putting on your graduation cap before your shoot. You’ve probably never worn one before and they can be tricky to put on. Try it a couple different ways to see what works best with your hair. Try moving it more forward, or more back or tilted. (use bobby pins to keep on if necessary.)

3. Take your gown out of its packaging before your photoshoot. Iron or steam your gown because fold creases and wrinkles will show up in your photos.

Pro tip: Most grad gowns are make of cheap polyester so if you do decide to iron it, use low heat and place a towel on top while you iron so it doesn’t melt

4. Grab a friend! Buddy shoots are a fun way to remember your friendships and celebrate your achievements together.

If you are graduating this year, May or June is the perfect time to have a grad mini session. Fun, quick and memorable!
